Canadian Champion Logan Bird Is Back To His Winning Ways

Logan Bird Back To His Winnings Ways

After months of recovery from a car accident that could have ended his life, reigning Canadian champion tie-down roper Logan Bird is back to his winning ways both north and south of the border. He had to battle through broken ribs that affected his ability to swing and a broken jaw that forced him to string from the belt, but he says he's feeling like he is almost back to normal and the leaderboard proves it.

We interviewed Bird shortly after his accident, then again when he came back to compete at The American where he pushed his still recovering body to return to competition. It's been a long road to recovery, but the 2017 Canadian champion and two-time Canadian Professional Rodeo Association tie-down roping season leader's name has returned to its usual place on the leaderboard.

In fact, over the June 8-10 weekend of rodeos, Bird split the win at the Rocky Pro Rodeo in Rocky Mountian House, Alberta, with fellow Canadian champion tie-down roper Al Bouchard. The two were 8.5 seconds and each earned $1940.16.
