If you grew up in the world of rodeo, chances are you've spent some time daydreaming about those iconic yellow chutes a the Thomas and Mack arena in Las Vegas. But what if your event is not one that is currently offered at the National Finals Rodeo?

With just two rodeos left in the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association's 2019 season, we've calculated that there are 30 cowboys and cowgirls left with a chance to get into the Canadian Finals Rodeo. They've been battling it out all season long, but for some that are either on the bubble or just below it, it will all come down to the Dallas Sunstrum Memorial Rodeo in Brooks, Alberta, and the Hanna Indoor Pro Rodeo in Hanna, Alberta, to see who will take the final few spots available in the top 12.

The CPRA announced their year-end awards in a press release today, bringing some exciting news for the hard-working competitors, animal athletes, and contract personnel of the association. These awards are voted on by the top 20 competitors, novice competitors, and contract members in the association and are often regarded with the highest honor for competitors and personal because they are recognized by their peers as outstanding in their category.

One of the most popular rodeo competitors going down the road today —the “Wild Man” Wade Sundell — is currently recovering in the Mission Hospital in San Juan Capistrano, California, after a major injury during the Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo. Sundell still has a long recovery ahead of him, but after spending over three weeks in the hospital, the reigning world champion bronc rider is on his way up.

The Pendleton Round-Up is a crucial rodeo this time of year for competitors hoping to make a last-chance push for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. It’s also extremely unique in that cowboys and cowgirls are competing on grass instead of dirt.
