On Demand Tuesday: Cody Ohl World Jr Calf Roping Championships

Eight categories, three days, one impressive showing of junior tie-down and breakaway ropers. The Cody Ohl World Jr Calf Roping Championships is coming to Sweetwater, Texas, this weekend and will showcase some of the best junior ropers around as they compete in the six-time world champion’s namesake event.

The Draw

Contestants have been competing all year in three qualifiers and will have one more chance to qualifier during the weekend in the Last Chance Qualifier. Each competitor can only qualify for the finals once in each category they are eligible to compete in. 

There are some familiar names on the list already, including reigning Junior NFR 10-and-under breakaway world champion Coleman Canton who will be looking to add a Cody Ohl world title to his repertoire.

The Format

All of the roping are a three-head average with a huge payout for both round winners and the aggregate champions totaling over $150,000 cash along with saddles for the world champions and aggregate winners, and buckles to the round winners.
