Another Beard On The Scene: Tristin Woolsey Wins Heeling Season

Tristin Woolsey is No. 4 on our countdown of season leaders en route to CFR. This renegade has a lot of talent in his right hand—but that beard, though.

Another Beard On The Scene: Tristin Woolsey Wins Heeling Season

We can’t wait for the 2018 Canadian Finals Rodeo when all the best professional athletes who competed on Canadian soil this year will go head-to-head for six rounds. As CFR45 draws near, we’re going to be counting down the best athletes in each event this rodeo season and the fourth competitor in our countdown to the CFR is that long-bearded heeler, Tristin Woolsey.

See if Woolsey can hold his lead at the Canadian Finals Rodeo LIVE on FloRodeo October 30 to November 4.

Analysis:

It started all the way back in 2017 at Agribition for Tristin Woolsey. Back then he was paired up with Brady Tryan for the weekend, and the duo won the first round, third in average, and a big check to start off their 2018 seasons.

Come springtime, Woolsey and partner Denver Johnson lit up the CPRA and never looked back. Their first big win was at the Wainwright Stampede when the pair placed in both rounds, won the short round, and the average to collect over $5,000 a piece.

But they weren’t done yet.

The Ponoka Stampede is a rodeo all Canadian cowboys dream of winning some day, and that day would come early in their careers for this pair that seemed to be on a mission to win every tour rodeo of the season. At the conclusion of Canada’s richest rodeo, another $8,500 was added to what seemed to be a dream-season for Woolsey.

There’s no safety in this youngster that rides and his times this year prove it. I’ve counted seven sub-five second runs this season alone.

I also like to make fun of that beard he has going on, but hey, maybe there’s something to it? Jeremy Buhler grew his and won a world title, maybe Woolsey can do the same in Canada?
