When you look at these pictures, you're gazing upon young cowboys and cowgirls who have dreams of being the best in the world. Some prevailed, and some will have to come back next year to try again.

These youngsters matched up against the best in their age categories to put on a show for 10 days in Las Vegas at the Junior National Finals Rodeo in December. Whether they left with heartbreak or a shiny new buckle in hand, they rode some of the rankest ponies and mini bulls, ran and roped their way to rapid times, and should all be holding their heads high because they represented the next generation of rodeo competitors well.

Remember these faces, because they're coming for the pro show.
