Rodeo Austin Introduces Freestyle Bullfighting At Bulltober
If you've ever thought about combining beer, bulls, food trucks, and live music, but have been hesitant because of the logistics, you should head to Austin, Texas, in late October -- because they've figured it out for you.

Rodeo Austin announced a new event and series. Bulltober Fest, as they're calling it, will feature American Freestyle Bullfighting by Bullfighters Only. The event is a brutal adrenaline rush that combines both elegance and simplicity. It's one man against one beast, judged, according to the Bullfighters Only website, by criteria like control, creativity, and aggression.

The 90-minute competition will award a $25,000 prize to one of 12 athletes. The festivities start at 4:30 PM on October 28 with beer and food, followed by the competition at 6 PM, after which are live music performances by Troy Cartwright and the Dirty River Boys. It's the best combination of the Lone Star State and its capital: music, food, and cowboys.
