The RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo (RNCFR) is set to kick off at the Silver Spurs Arena at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida, this week.
Traditionally, 24 contestants have competed for their chance to be crowned the national circuit champion, but this year Mexico has been added to bring the field to 26 contestants in each event. Another change this year is the money won at the RNCFR will count toward the Weather Guard PRCA world standings, which determines who qualifies for the WNFR in December. With the exceptional talent, large prize money, and a chance to gain ground toward qualifying for the WNFR, the excitement and entertainment should not be disappointing.
All contestants will compete in the two preliminary rounds of the rodeo, which are divided into two sets. The first set competes in the performances held on Thursday, April 6, at 11 AM and Saturday, April 8, at 7:30 PM. The second set competes in the performances on Friday, April 7, at 7:30 PM and Saturday, April 8, at 1:30 PM. The top eight contestants (based on average times/scores) from each event advance to the semifinal round, with all previous scores and times thrown out. The semifinal round is Sunday, April 9, at 2:30 PM. The top four move on to the final Wrangler round, which is held right after the semifinal round on Sunday -- a sudden-death competition that determines the national circuit champion in each event. Because the top four contestants begin with a clean slate in the Wrangler round, each one has an equal opportunity to claim a RNCFR title.
Round 1 (all contestants): (Set 1) Thurs., April 6, at 11 AM & (Set 2) Fri., April 7, at 7:30 PM
Round 2 (all contestants): (Set 1) Sat., April 8, at 1:30 PM & (Set 2) Sat., April 8, at 7:30 PM
Semifinal Round (top eight in average from Round 1-2): Sun., April 9, at 2:30 PM
Championship Round (top four fastest times/highest scores from Semifinal Round): Immediately following Semifinal Round
RAM National Circuit Finals Champions: Fastest Times/Highest Scores in Championship Round
Event winners receive a $20,000 voucher for a new RAM vehicle, a Polaris RANGER UTV, a pair of exotic boots from Justin Boots, trophy saddle from Cactus Saddlery, and a Montana Silversmith buckle, in addition to their winnings.
