Fast times and top competitors made for exciting roping at the Western Horseman Invitational Breakaway in Fort Worth, Texas, on Tuesday. Jayme Marcum from Springtown, Texas, captured the title and won $4,000 for her quick time of 2.18 seconds in the short-go of the breakaway roping, which is one of the highlights of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.

More than 50 women were invited to participate in the breakaway roping, with each rider competing in the long-go and the fastest 10 times advancing to the short-go. The event's prize money was paid out strictly on the short-go times. Every competitor who made it back to the short-go was guaranteed money.
