Twelve of the nation's best freestyle bullfighters are set to compete in the Las Vegas Championship Qualifier at Cowboy Christmas on Friday and Saturday for a chance to move on to the Bullfighters Only World Championship on December 7-10.

This year's competitors are vying for over $50,000 in Las Vegas' Wrangler Arena as well as the first ever Freestyle Bullfighting World Championship title in 16 years.

Freestyle bull fights are scored based on a 100-point scale similar to a bull-riding event in rodeo. The bullfighter can earn up to 50 points and is judged based on how well he shows style and control while maneuvering around the bull. The bulls can also earn up to 50 points and are judged on their speed, aggressiveness, and willingness to stay engaged with the fighter at the end of the 60-second time limit. The judges award a score after each fight, and the man with the highest score at the end of the night is the winner.

The organization's crowning event, the Bullfighters Only Las Vegas Championship, will showcase 12 of the world's greatest freestyle bullfighters as part of the FloRodeo Cowboy Christmas Event Series.
