The cowboys and cowgirls of the Elite Rodeo Association are nearing the finish line in the "Championship Race to Dallas."

The ERA's inaugural season is set to come to an exciting end at the World Championship at the American Airlines Center from Friday-Sunday, streaming LIVE on FloRodeo.

The road to the ERA finals is different than many other organizations, basing its standings on a point system instead of money won. For every regular-season event, the top performer earned 225 points. At the ERA finals, the points will be raised to 600 points per round win and 900 for the average title.

With the amount of points available in the finals, the ERA's cowboys and cowgirls can expect a fight to the finish as they vie to be crowned the organization's first champions.

Here are the points leaders and top contenders to watch in each of the seven events this weekend:

Bareback
In pursuit of his first world title, Steven Dent leads the bareback riders with a total of 2,337.5 points, followed by four-time world champion Kaycee Feild in second overall with 2,287.5 points. With such a narrow points difference between the veteran riders, the championship will come down to who best uses their stock to their advantage.

Barrel Racing
This might be the most electrifying race at American Airlines Center, because it pits former world champion Lisa Lockhart against 11-year-old Chayni Chamberlain. Lockhart leads the standings with 2,525 points and Chamberlain trails in second with 2,362.5 points. Will the veteran be the ERA champion or will the youngest athlete on tour show the ladies she means business and walk away the title?

Bull Riding
Neil Holmes has 1,625 points to top the bull riding standings, while Beau Hill trails closely behind with 1,600 points. Both are seeking their first world championship. Holmes was injured at the PBR finals last week in Las Vegas, Nevada, so he will have to keep the pain and Hill at bay to capture the ERA championship.

Saddle Bronc Riding
Isaac Diaz enters Dallas with a slim lead over Cort Scheer. Both riders have been performing outstanding all season long with Diaz totaling 2,525 points and Sheer close behind with 2,462.5 points.

Steer Wrestling
Tyler Pearson paces the field with 2,275 points, but veteran Stockton Graves, who has competed professionally since 1998, is close behind with 2,187.5 points. Graves doubles as the head rodeo coach at Northwestern Oklahoma State, and his advice is often sought out by the up-and-coming steer wrestlers.

Team Roping
Derrick Begay and Clay O'Brien Cooper lead the team roping standings with 2,400 points, followed by Clay Tryan and Jade Corkill in second place with 2,350 points. The finals are expected to be extremely fast and will most likely come down the final steer before a champion is crowned.

Tie-Down Roping
Two of the younger ropers in the field, Shane Hanchey and Tuf Cooper enter the ERA finals with a chance to hold off some of the more experienced competitors such as 23-time world champion Trevor Brazile and eight-time titlist Fred Whitfield. Hanchey leads the standings with 2,400 points, while Cooper has 2,225 points.
