The 87th annual Texas Cowboy Reunion is set to kick off on June 28 and continue until July 1 at the TCR rodeo grounds in Stamford, Texas. Following the successful debuts of matched horse races and women's breakaway roping at last year's event the events will be returning to the TCR in 2017. Steer Wrestling has been added to the event list for the 2017 TCR, but the biggest change is the TCR has stepped up and added $500 to the tie-down roping. The tie-down roping is one of the largest events at the TCR and has never had added money in the past.

TNT Rodeo Stock Contractor is known for providing some of the rankest bulls and broncs around, and the United Professional Rodeo Association's toughest competitors are ready to conquer that stock. In addition, the Texas Cowboy Reunion's non-traditional rodeo events, such as wild cow milking, double muggin', and steer riding, will once again be fan favorites for the thrills and the spills.

This year's rodeo is set to start on Tuesday with the slack competition in the team roping and barrel racing. The competition will continue on Wednesday morning with the slack competition of the barrel racing and pioneer barrel racing, followed by the first Texas Cowboy Reunion performance at 7:30 PM.

On Thursday morning, the event will proceed with the slack competition of the tie-down roping and double muggin'. Thursday night will feature the second TCR performance at 7:30 PM. Slack competition continues Friday morning with the second round of the tie-down roping and double muggin', and the third TCR performance begins at 7:30 PM. Saturday morning will wrap up slack competition with the pioneer calf roping and pioneer breakaway roping. The competition will close as the champions are crowned during the final performance on Saturday night at 7:30 PM.
