Sharin Hall Claims The 2017 BBR World Finals Futurity Crown

We were lucky enough to catch up with top futurity trainer Sharin Hall after a very eventful and busy weekend at the Better Barrel Races World Finals held last weekend in Oklahoma City. Hall was crowned the 2017 BBR World Finals Futurity Champion when she and her extraordinary mare Dreaming Of Foose (4 year old mare by Foose and out of Hawks Dream Girl by Hawkinson) blew away the competition.

With severe weather and high winds, the Jim Norick Arena where the BBR World Finals were being held, seemed to be the center of destruction Friday night. With no power and circumstances out of anyone's control, the BBR committee changed the remaining schedule for the weekend. While the weather was grim, barrel racers tried to stay as positive as they could until the power was restored and the show was up and running again and thankfully, Sunday morning brought sunny skies and power to the arena and barns!

Here is a little rundown with BBR World Finals Futurity Champion, Sharin Hall.

FloRodeo: Is this the first time that you have won the BBR World Finals Futurity?
Hall: Yes it is.

What do you enjoy most about the BBR and the BBR World Finals?
I enjoy running for year-end points, winning the awesome jackpots that they have for awards and the great new format for the futurity.

How many futurities have you won in your career of training and jockeying futurity horses?
Oh gosh, that is a hard question! I would have to do some serious homework. But I do know that I have won 4 so far this year! It has been a great year!

What are your futurity/rodeo lifetime earnings?
I am going to say close to ¾ of a million, so $750,000.

What are Dreaming Of Foose's lifetime earnings?
She has won close to $70,000.00 in her short career as a barrel horse.

What makes Dreaming Of Foose so special?
She is a true gift from God. She is loaded with speed on top of athleticism and is just great at what she does.

What are your plans for her future?
I am going to pull a couple embryo's and continue adding to my broodmare and breeding program. She is going to be a great asset.

Tell us about your runs at the BBR World Finals on Dreaming Of Foose.
Her runs were consistently fast and she worked her barrels almost perfectly. I focused on being solid, clean and smooth and it worked out in our favor! Very grateful.

Congrats to Sharin Hall and the incredible mare Dreaming Of Foose. We wish you all the best for the remaining of the futurity year!
