The battle royale has got to be one of the most exciting categories of the Duvall's Steer Wrestling Jackpot. This year, two groups of three competitors matched, with the best on six runs moving on to the final battle. Each competitor received all six runs and time of 60 seconds was assessed for every no-time. 

In Group A, Ace Campbell saw himself so far ahead of the competition after the fifth steer that there was no mathematical chance to beat him, giving him the opportunity to sit out his sixth steer and rest up for the final battle. 

Campbell then went head-to-head with Group B winner Chase Crane, who placed second in last year's battle. The pair each took four more steers and Crane proved he would not settle for second place this time.
