The Reno Rodeo may take place in the "Biggest Little City in the World," but its crowds and payouts each year are simply huge. The 10-day rodeo wrapped up this past Friday with a number of well-known champions as well as rookies taking home the coveted silver spurs for winning their events.

In the bareback riding, rookie Wyatt Bloom won his first ever Reno Rodeo after notching the high mark ride of the final round with 87.5 points on Rosser Rodeo's Flood Tide. That ride made him a total of 249.5 points on three head, winning him $5,318 for the average title. Bloom came into the short round after a second-place tie for the second round.

"To be a rookie competing with these guys is pretty surreal," Bloom said. "I'm thankful for the opportunity to go down the road with them and to be doing well on top of that is just awesome. I'm excited for the summer to continue."

The steer wrestling was led by NFR qualifier Dakota Eldridge. He mentioned that he had a lot of pressure due to coming back high call.

"I was just glad I did good because I had a lot of pressure" Eldridge said in an interview on Reno Rodeo's Instagram.

He ended up placing second in the final round but was able to stay the champion by 1 1/2 seconds. The average payout of $6,142 was added to his money won for this season.

Heeler Wesley Thorp also finished a profitable run over the past few weeks. He took home his second CNFR championship a week before being crowned the champion of the Reno Rodeo. Thorp won Reno with Cody Snow as his header.  The pair was 16.1 seconds on three head to put $6,782 in its pockets. Thorp and Snow have already taken off again to continue their summer run.

For the third year in a row, Heith DeMoss walked away as the saddle bronc riding champion of the Reno Rodeo. The win of the first round had him ready to take on the next two rounds. With an average of 247 points on three head, DeMoss took home $5,074 for the average payout.  The past two years he scored 247 points on the three horses, which has ended in the championship.

Ryan Jarrett captured the title in the tie-down roping with 26.3 seconds on three head. Jarrett, who won $6,527 in the average, is coming back from a wrist surgery that took place on December 15, soon after the National Finals Rodeo. He was officially released in April. He had been to around 25 rodeos before his first win at the Reno Rodeo.

The barrel race was won by Nellie Miller, who started the rodeo off right with a win in the first round. She also placed in the second round, which had her in a good spot for the short round. She secured the average win and won $5,012 after a second-place finish in the final round.

Brennon Eldred and Brady Portenier split the win for the bull riding, with each earning $5,575. The final round didn't end up well for the cowboys, and there were no qualified rides. With the bull riders only competing in one round, the title went to the guys who tied for the first round. They both scored 86 points on the ride. Eldred was atop Big Bend Rodeo's Beer On The Patio. Portenier made his ride on All In Pro Rodeo's Gansta Roll.
