Bareback rider Evan Jayne, a two-time qualifier for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo presented by Polaris RANGER, and his wife, Kristin, are dealing with medical emergency involving their 4-year-old daughter, Sienna Rose Jayne.

On Feb. 22, Sienna suffered a brain aneurysm and in a medically-induced coma, Evan said in a post on his Facebook page. A GoFundMe page has been established to help Sienna on her road to recovery. To donate, click here.




Foundation Created In Memory Of Pozzobon


Shortly over a month after the passing of Ty Pozzobon, family and friends close to Pozzobon are proud to announce the Ty Pozzobon Foundation (TPF).
In the first meeting, the foundation's mission statement was set forth:

To protect and support the health and well-being of rodeo competitors inside and outside the arena.
Pozzobon's best friend, Tanner Byrne, stepped forward as the spokesperson of the foundation.


Covy Moore is auctioning off 24x18 posterboard prints over the next two weeks. All proceeds are going to the Ty Pozzobon Foundation and to ensure the Canadian Pro Rodeo Sport Medicine Team can attend every event on the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association and PBR Canada schedules.



Tucson Rodeo Estimates $17-20M Impact


The annual La Fiesta de los Vaqueros Tucson Rodeo sold out the last two days of the rodeo on Feb. 25-26. Jose Calderon, the rodeo chairman, estimated the event had an economic impact of $17 to $20 million in the community.



Schulze Updates Condition


On February 16, WPRA barrel racer Kim Schulze was was kicked in the stomach by a horse and suffered a grade 4 laceration of her liver. She had to undergo several surgeries to control the bleeding. Schulze posted the following update on Facebook:

Miss Rodeo Australia Suffers Tragic Accident


On February 13, Miss Rodeo Australia, Bessie Smits had a serious accident will not be able to ride a horse again. However, she will continue her term as Miss Rodeo Australia. She has posted inspirational quotes and motivational tidbits on Facebook daily since her accident. We are wishing her a speedy recovery and great success during her reign as queen.




Davis Family Shares Good News


PBR world champion Cooper Davis did not ride at The American due to a health scare with his son, Mack. However, on February 27, his wife, Kaitlyn posted:

Praise Jesus!!! Our little man is 100% and making red blood cells again. Thank you to everyone who prayed for him & us. Officially diagnosed with TEC! It is so hard seeing all of those babies fighting cancer today, we were the luckiest people on that floor and we won't ever stop praising god about it!!!!!



Virus Linked To Equine Herpes Found In Denton County


​The Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) confirmed Equine Herpes Myeloencephalopathy (EHM),  the neurologic disease linked to Equine Herpes Virus (EHV-1), in a Denton County barrel racing horse on February 21.
