You will not want to miss any of the excitement from the 2017 International Finals Youth Rodeo (IFYR) contestants showcase their best skills while competing for more than $250,000 in prize money!

International Finals Youth Rodeo

The IFYR was established in 1993 and is now an internationally recognized high school rodeo. The IFYR is known as the world's richest youth rodeo, and it is held annually in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The IFYR has grown to attract the greatest high school rodeo athletes from around the world. Events include barrel racing, pole bending, breakaway roping, goat tying, team roping, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, bull riding, saddle bronc riding and bareback riding. The IFYR consists of two long go-rounds and the short go. All contestants compete once in each of the long go-rounds. The top 15 averages advance to the short round, which is held on Friday night.

  • Sunday, July 9th at 8 p.m. cst
  • Monday, July 10th at 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. cst
  • Tuesday, July 11th at 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m cst
  • Wednesday, July 12th at 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m cst
  • Thursday, July 13th at 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. cst
  • Friday, July 14th at 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m cst- FINALS
*All times are in Central Standard Time Zone
The IFYR has 11 total performances, starting with the kick-off, Sunday, July 9th at 8 p.m. cst Monday, July 10th through Friday, July 14th there are two performances daily, 9 a.m. cst and 7:30 p.m. cst.The finals performance is Friday, July 14th at 7:30 p.m. cst.

Events include barrel racing, pole bending, breakaway roping, goat tying, team roping, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, bull riding, saddle bronc riding and bareback riding.

Events run simultaneously in three arenas during each performance.

The IFYR consists of two long-gos and a short-go. The top 15 contestants in each event advance to the short round on Friday night.

Official entry is 100 percent online. Events will close as they fill-up or on June 30.

Once you have completed your online registration you will be given a confirmation number to allow access to your application shall you need to add additional events, stalls, camping spots or print off copies of the IPRA permit application, horse registration papers, etc.
 
To Be Officially Entered
  • You must download, print and mail the medical release (available below in PDF format) and a copy of your birth certificate to be able to compete in IFYR 2017. We do not store copies from previous years.
  • Contestant and parent signatures with notary are required on the medical release and eligibility form if the contestant is under 18 years of age. If the contestant is over 18 years of age, signatures of contestant and parents are still required but notary is not.

Entry Fees
  • $150 per event (guarantees two long go's and the possibility of the short go)
  • International Pro Rodeo Association Permit (IPRA Permit)
  • You must have one of the following to compete at IFYR:
    • IPRA Rodeo Permit- $45
    • IPRA Youth Card- $125
    • Current IPRA Full Membership (notary of parent's signature is required if contestant is under the age of 18)
 
Stalls and Camp Ground Reservations
Stalling and camping spots will close when all spaces are filled, or by June 20. There are a limited number of on ground stalls and camping sites. Everything is secured by your date of entry online, first-come, first-served. Early applicants get the best locations. Stalling is nonrefundable after purchase online; however, you can sign up in the stalling office on grounds to sell your stall yourself. Camping fees are nonrefundable after purchase online as well, unless you are vetting out or medical releasing before IFYR.
